Burleigh Heads, located on the southern end of the Gold Coast, has had a massive revival over the past few years and has now become one of my favourite places to visit when I’m in need of some beach time (which is pretty much all the time). The revival of Burleigh has seen the expanse of a number of fantastic cafes, including Burleigh Social. What more could you want than a great beach, amazing, wholesome food and some shopping?
Burleigh Social is located in a very random location, so you really have to know about it, to find it. Located in Hibiscus Haven, a couple of blocks back from the beach, this cafe (along with Paddock– also amazing) is a hidden gem. Ok firstly, the vibe of Burleigh Social…it incorporates everything I love about the coastal life, creating a chilled and relaxing environment. The main seating is located outside, with an assortment of different wooden tables and chairs. The cafe is aesthetically pleasing with large amounts of reclaimed wood, and aluminium. In other words, it has a really cool fit out.
Onto the food…quite frankly, it is delicious! Having tried a few things on the menu now, I must say, each dish is full of flavour and is incredibly wholesome. The menu features an all day breakfast, as well as a separate lunch menu. With options such as an Acai bowl or a burger with a brioche bun, the options are endless. I must say though, I have ordered the Burleigh Social Classic Cheeseburger before, and if you don’t like your meat rare, let them know! I learnt the hard way…. I would however, recommend the Nachos with Beans, Corn and Smashed Avocado (pictured above), the Cajun Chicken Burger (pictured above) and my sister loves the BBQ Pulled Pork roll. Basically the menu has a number of delicious options, so have fun choosing!
As for coffee, I would recommend sticking to iced coffee. They haven’t quite mastered hot coffees yet, but as the food is so delicious, I think an iced coffee will do for a hit of caffeine. They make a killer Soy Iced Coffee…
