There is nothing worse than being stuck on a 16 hour plane ride from Brisbane to Dallas, with a screaming child in front and someone snoring behind. This doesn’t even including the extremely loud noise of the, umm, massive plane holding hundreds of people in the sky! After being on a few flights just like this, I was saved when I purchased the Bose QuietComfort 25 noise cancelling headphones. Boy oh boy, have these changed my flying life!
For starters, when I have these headphones on and then take them off, it’s like being hit with a wall of intense sound. In other words, the noise cancelling part of these headphones work. I mean, really work! What’s also great about the noise cancelling is that it can be turned on and off.
In addition to the amazing noise cancelling qualities, the Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones sit around your ears, and therefore don’t squash your ears against your head for an entire flight. The slight downfall is if you like to sleep with them on, and lean your head to the side. That’s when things don’t get too comfortable. But for when it’s time to sleep on one of those never ending flights, I like to opt for some earplugs instead of headphones.
Another amazing thing about the Bose QuietComfort 25, is that they come with an adapter for the plane. So you no longer have to watch 5 movies with those terrible free headphones they give you. And one last bonus is that the headphones come in a handy travel case!
The Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones really are life changing for frequent flyers. There is a now a newer release of the BoseComfort 35 Noise Cancelling Wireless headphones. However, I would recommend the QuietComfort 25 as they can be used on a plane and the wireless version cannot. The Bose QuietComfort retail for $399 which is a lot of money for headphones, however, you can pretty much always find them on sale somewhere, so don’t settle for full price! Even with a sale price, these headphones are quite the investment, but I cannot recommend them enough. They really have changed my flying experience. Now if only someone could invent inflatable beds that can be used in economy…
Do you have any travel essentials you can’t live without?
