Skincare… it’s that annoying pain, that everyone wishes would just go away leaving you with perfect skin every day without having to reach for millions of products. Some people are lucky enough to be blessed with skin that loves them, however, I am not one of them and therefore all skincare products are indeed my friend. I think a morning skincare routine is essential for anyone who wants healthy skin, without it, you are just placing makeup over clogged pores.
When it comes to my morning skincare routine I want it to be quick, easy and, most importantly, effective in waking me up! The first product I reach for in the morning is the Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash. This is really gentle on the skin and is really great for freshening up my face (and waking me up!). This is such an affordable product but does a really great job at cleaning the skin effectively, without causing any irritations.
The next step, which is possibly the most important, using a toner. Toning the skin closes your pores after they have been ‘opened’ during the cleansing stage. The First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads do an amazing job at, not only toning the skin after washing, but also giving your skin a glow and controlling any redness that you may have from blemishes.
The third step is yet another integral part of your skincare routine, moisturising. I have been using the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (for sensitive skin). This product is okay, it’s nothing amazing, but also nothing terrible. It doesn’t dry my skin out, make it feel oily, or give that weird flaky effect that some moisturisers have. I have to say, I’m still on the hunt for a really great day moisturiser, so if you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments below.
I follow this step with applying an SPF. As it is getting hotter and hotter in Australia as we approach summer, it is beyond important to apply an SPF every day. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Clear Face Sunscreen in SPF 30 is one for the basket. It is super light on the skin, it is a high SPF and it doesn’t leave you with that dreaded white sheen, that most face SPFs do. This one gets a massive thumbs up from me!
Last but not least, apply a lip balm. I have been using my Nuxe Reve Di Miel that I raved about in this post.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading about my morning skincare routine! Keep your eyes peeled on Saturday for my evening skincare routine.
