I honestly can’t believe July has come to an end, but this does only mean one thing…it’s time for my monthly favourites! This month, I have made some incredible makeup discoveries. I also have a few random bits and bobs that I’m sure you’ll enjoy!
My first, and most loved favourite for this month, must go to the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+). This thing is a miracle worker!! Seriously people it has changed my life! When I returned from the USA my skin basically went into a funk and absolutely hated me. I tried a variety of cleansers but absolutely nothing was making my face look any better. Well, that is until I stumbled across the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+). I apply a pea sized amount to my entire face every morning and night, after cleansing and toning with products from Simple. This product is specifically designed for those who have acne prone skin, just like myself. It somehow clears away any pores (I really noticed this on my nose), blackheads and whiteheads. This cream leaves you with, I’m going to say it, baby soft skin! Seriously, you must try it! The only downfall to this product is that it is a little pricey for the amount that you get. It costs $28 for 40ml, which has really only lasted me just over a month. But considering I have tried so many other products and nothing was helping until I came across this, I think I can suck up the price tag.
This month I have been addicted to winged liner, whether it’s just for a day at work, or if I’m off to a music festival. I just love the look, and feel as though it really enhances my eye shape. Anyway, I have been loving the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner ($12.95). Not only is it extremely easy to use as it has a felt tip applicator, but it lasts perfectly on your eyes for HOURS! I’m talking, you get home from being out all day and it looks as though you only just applied that precious feline flick.
It wouldn’t be a monthly favourites post without mentioning a nail polish, so this months favourite polish has to go to the Revlon Colorstay Gel Polish ($16.95) in the shade Checkmate (510). This polish is so easy to apply and lasts for absolute days without losing any shine. The colour is the perfect nude and creates an effortlessly chic look.
My next favourite has come in very handy this month as my skin has become a lot more pale seeing as we’re in the middle of winter. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer (Park Avenue Princess) and Blush (Dollface) Duo , has given my face the lift it has needed this month. I have especially been loving applying a light dusting of the bronzer to give me a little bit of life! And it is a matte bronzer, so I couldn’t be happier. Although this blush may look a little scary, it is seriously wonderful, as it gives the perfect flush colour, making you look healthy and radiant. Product aside, the packaging of this duo is heavenly! Just look at it! This is a limited edition product, however, you can still purchase each of the bronzer and blush individually.
A nude eyeliner…the perfect fix for anyone who is seriously lacking sleep and donning red, puffy eyes. I have really been loving the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Nude Kohl Eyeliner ($9.95). I just put this on my lower waterline and it instantly makes me look like I have had a 10 hour sleep. I don’t think it’s the most long lasting product but it does it’s job for a good couple of hours. I have heard rumours that the nude shade is getting discontinued in Australia, so if I was you, I would go out and buy one before it’s too late.
This next favourite may seem a little strange but when you’re out and about and you look at your watch and it’s 3pm and you realise you haven’t had lunch yet, these bad boys come in very handy. These Dark Chocolate Covered Cranberries ($3.95) give you an instant pick me up and ultimately just taste incredible! I just got these from my local supermarket, so I’m sure they wouldn’t be too hard to find.
My last favourite is a pair of shoes that have seen me through every day off from work I have had this month. These Urge Osaka Boots ($150), are the perfect winter boot giving you a slight heel. You can wear these boots with anything, from a dress to jeans, these boots have you covered. I have found these incredibly comfortable, and for a narrow foot gal, they fit me like a charm. I was originally a little worried about the slight point at the top of the boot at the front, however, as these boots are 100% leather, the point has really softened up and is not a problem at all.
Anyway, those are my favourites for the month of July. I hope you enjoyed this post and give some of these products a go. Sorry I ranted a little too much (can you tell I love these products). Leave a comment telling me what your favourite product was from July.
