On July 27th the time had finally come for me to venture down to Byron Bay in the northern New South Wales hinterland for Australia’s annual music festival, Splendour In The Grass.
The three day festival ran from July 25th-July 27th. Although I would have loved to attend for the full three days, I opted for a one day pass for my first ever music festival.
The day was full of incredible food, stalls, henna, company and most definitely, MUSIC! I was luckily enough to see Sam Smith, Chvrches, Foster the People, Ben Howard, Grouplove, Jungle, Michael Paskalev and Lily Allen. The chilled atmosphere was accompanied by a mere 30,000 people (no biggie). All 30,000 people (minus a few strange ones) embraced their inner hippie (and maybe a member of an American Indian tribe), dancing and singing the day away.
Here are my festival essentials and my outfit for the event.
If you were only going to take one of these things, it has to be hand sanitiser to help you conquer those portaloos (trust me on this one). Also, the poncho (spontaneous buy), literally saved my life as the sun went down and the temperature absolutely plummeted.
Here are some photos from my incredible day at Splendour.
Anyway, Splendour In The Grass was one of the best experiences of my life. I am already counting down the days to next years festival.
