On Monday the 20th of April, girls from the volleyball, golf and tennis team at my college, volunteered to help out at the Carolina Miracle League. The goal of this organisation is to provide those with disabilities an opportunity to play baseball. As they say “everyone deserves to play ball”. I think this is such a wonderful idea and after seeing the smiles on all the buddies faces, it made me realise how something so simple could make someone so happy. Each of us were paired with a buddy and it was our job to help them play baseball (and keep them safe). I am so glad that I was able have this experience and witness how happy these children were to play. If any of you ever have the chance to volunteer for a similar cause such as this one, I would highly recommend it. Not only was it extremely fun but it also opened up my eyes to those who care for a child with a disability.
