Today was the first Easter in 18 years that I did not wake up bright and early to an Easter egg sitting next to my head, that the ‘Easter Bunny’ had brought to me in the night. Instead, I woke up late in the morning and opened a packet of Cadbury Easter eggs that had thankfully made their way from Australia in the post (thanks Mum!). With a homemade hot cross bun (hot cross buns don’t exist here…whatttt? I know right!) and a fresh cup of hot tea, my Easter Sunday was off to a very sweet and relaxing start.
My regular Easter family picnic was swapped with a walk to the local Starbucks with my roommate and a friend, in an attempt to get off campus and catch up on our extensive ‘to do lists’. (By the way, I’m now obsessed with the Starbucks Mocha Frappacino).
In the spirit of Easter, I decided to swap my regular sports clothing with a blue shirt that I recently bought from American Eagle, for (get ready)…$7, which was a complete and utter bargain, as well as some black skinny jeans from Levi’s. I also freshly painted my nails, with this extremely quick and easy spring design inspired by youtuber and blogger, Meghan Rosette. I just love the scalloped look and bright spring colours! My hair was also inspired by the recent Halo Braid Tutorial by Suzie from HelloOctoberxo.
2014 marked my first Easter outside of Australia and without my family. Although it was definitely not the same, it was enjoyable (especially thanks to the Easter eggs sent from home)! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter with your friends and family!
