Over last weeks Spring Break, I was lucky enough to go and see an NBA game between the Charlotte Bobcats and the Philadelphia Seventy Sixes in downtown Charlotte, NC. Prior to the game, myself and my friends, went to the famous Five Guys burger shop for quick dinner. It was very delicious and the restaurant had a very cool vibe to it. Oh and not to mention, it was extremely cheap (gotta love American prices)! The burgers were greasy, yes, but I tell you what, those hot chips were something else; pretty bloody amazing actually.
We joined thousands of people at the Time Warner Cable Arena for my very first NBA game. Even though we were in the ‘nose bleed’ section because we were so high up, I didn’t mind, well once I got past having a headache from looking down so much to see the ball. The atmosphere was incredible and sure did make up for the dizziness!
American sporting events sure do know how to spoil their fans. Throughout the game, whenever a time out was called, the cheerleaders would come out and start throwing t-shirts and other prizes into the crowd. At first I was a little annoyed that we would be missing out on these prizes as we were so high up…but then out came the catapult and prizes started flying our way! Unfortunately we were not quite so lucky to actually receive any prizes, other than the free t-shirts we were given upon entry (again, Americans really do know how to treat their fans)!
The game was absolutely amazing and left us on a high as the Charlotte Bobcats clinched the win in the final seconds of the game!
