I recently returned from a four day trip to the beautiful destination of Hilton Head Island on the coast of South Carolina. I traveled there with my college tennis team to play matches against a university from South Dakota and another from Minneapolis, which I personally thought was so incredibly cool! I feel like I have played people from all over America as well as all over the world.
This trip also marked my first sighting of an American beach and boy oh boy, it did not disappoint. It felt as though I had stepped straight onto the set of The Last Song, or better yet, The Notebook. Although the beaches were very different to the ones I’m used to in Australia, they were still beautiful in their own way. One terrible downfall of the trip was that on our one day off, it rained! Nevertheless, I still managed to capture some awesome photos of the beach (and some pretty impressive tennis player sock tans) despite the grey, overcast sky! Oh and one major difference between an Australian and America beach is….the seagulls are so fat!
The few days we spent in Hilton Head were filled with so much laughter, tennis and fun! It was definitely a weekend to remember.
